Aliant Battery has developed the EK Series, a wide range of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries LFP – LiFePO4, that can follow almost any requirement from customers.

The continuous demand for electric and hybrid machinery, due to the need for decarbonization in a world that is constantly imposing regulations for lower carbon emissions, is paving the way for a new sustainable future. Lithium batteries are a core technology for such a process and due to their features are becoming a popular choice for many applications. Choosing customized lithium batteries allow machinery OEMs to increase performance, optimizes dimensions and weight, integrate the batteries inside existing chassis. Not only that: when it comes to customization, many options are possible in terms of hardware, firmware and communication protocols.

This is the reason why Aliant Battery has developed the EK Series, a wide range of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries LFP – LiFePO4, that can follow almost any requirement from customers. Aliant Battery EK Series is designed for solutions from 24Volt to 800Volt DC and from 66AH to 2000AH. These products have already been adopted by a wide majority of European OEMs in the field of aerial platforms, cranes and lifts, earth moving equipment and street cleaning machines. The products are designed and manufactured from scratch at company headquarter, based in Imola, Italy, inside a 3500 sqm facility built in 2018, currently undergoing an expansion of further 2000 sqm. Quality Control is a paramount and it is made for each individual product.

The embedded electronics, so-called Battery Management Systems or simply BMS, is proprietary: developed in house by a team of technical experts with 10+ years’ experience in lithium battery design and manufacturing. The BMS features also integrated Thermal Management BTMS, in order to get full control of battery performance no matter the temperature range of the machinery is. The remote diagnostic is always possible with dedicated open diagnostic software, while remote proactive monitoring can be done via proprietary Athena portal.

As concerns the charge process, all the models can accept several options depending on voltage and capacity: from industrial AC to onboard charger mode 3 (type 1 or type2), from industrial DC to public DC charging mode 4. A number of configurable options for degree of protection IP, displays, advanced embedded logic and communication protocols are also available.

The advantages of choosing a custom battery supplier are multiples: precise integration and dimensioning of the energy storage, advanced safety features, excellent and optimal footprint. Long terms benefits are the economic return of the investment related to such a kind of projects, including but not limited to the after sales advantages and best system optimization.
