Hyundai Construction Equipment has introduced the HL955AHD and HL955AHDXT wheeled loaders, to sit alongside the larger HL960AHD and heavy-duty versions of the HL970A. These highly developed models have been specifically designed to handle severe applications, such as recycling and waste handling, with additional protection for cabs, axles, driveline components and cooling equipment. Features include:

  • cabin guards front and rear, provide additional protection for the operator in hazardous working conditions; under guards, front and rear, hydraulic cylinder, lamp and axle seal guards shield driveline components; rear grille guard for waste applications prevents damage to the cooling pack and protects the rear bodywork; Heavy duty axles, with or without front axle cooling provide higher axles loads and increased durability.
  • While all Hyundai wheeled loaders, including the HL955A, are built to provide optimum performance and productivity in a wide range of operating conditions, the waste and recycling sectors demand additional robust protection, to maintain machine reliability and prevent downtime. This has led to the development of heavy-duty HD versions of the both the standard PZ-bar HL955AHD, with high tilt-back forces making it ideal for heavier attachments, and the high-lift HL955AHDXT model with its extended lift arm reach. The heavy-duty HD models are equipped as standard with a high capacity, auto differential lock front axle, in place of the standard axle on the HL955A. This axle offers a dynamic load capacity of 19.4 tonnes, up from 16 tonnes on the standard machine. The front axle can also be equipped with axle cooling, to enhance braking performance and deliver added durability, reducing downtime for the customer. The rear axle has an open differential as standard, though a limited slip differential is offered as an option for job sites that require additional traction.
  • The HL955AHD, along with the high lift HL955AHDXT, are available with a range of proven shields and guards, already seen on the HL960AHD. Optional wrap-around cabin guards front and rear are offered on all Z- and PZ-bar lift frame Hyundai wheeled loader models. These provide added protection for the windscreen and rear glazing. They also shield the operator from possible flying debris, while delivering an unobstructed view of the working area. Customers can choose between two kits, including a range of hydraulic cylinder guards, lamp guards and axle seal guards to provide protection from dust and debris and from material spilling from the bucket. Sturdy steel under guards can be supplied for both the front and rear sections of the articulating frame, to prevent contact with objects and to stop material entering the engine or transmission compartments.
  • A similar range of optional protective guards is available for the larger HL970A, though the model doesn’t take the HD designation. A high-capacity front axle is already standard on the HL970A, delivering a dynamic load of 25 tonnes, while the rear axle capacity was increased with the introduction of the A-Series, offering an identical 25 tonne capability.
