Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe B.V. (KCME) showcased its latest models to the Italian market for the first time at SaMoTer 2023.

Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe B.V. (KCME) showcased its latest models to the Italian market for the first time at SaMoTer 2023. While details of the new SK34SR-7 and SK39SR-7 were released in February, the event in Verona, Italy on 3-7 May was the first opportunity for KCME’s customers to see the new mini excavators up close.

Mini excavators are vital to Kobelco’s overall product line-up. The introduction of the SK34SR-7 and SK39SR-7 demonstrates how the Japanese manufacturer is continually developing its mini excavator technology and machine concepts in order to better meet the increasing demands of its operators. ‘Built for perfection’, these machines are extremely precise in operation and offer increased engine performance, an updated cabin interior and easier maintenance vs the previous SK30SR-6E and SK35SR-6E.

In addition to the SK34SR-7 and SK39SR-7, visitors to KCME’s 510m2 stand were able to see the SK58SRX-7, the largest of Kobelco’s mini excavators, as well as the much smaller 1.7-tonne SK17SR-3E. Heavier, Short Radius (SR) excavators are also popular in Italy, particularly in the mountainous regions, so Kobelco also showcased the mid-weight SK140SRLC-7 and the multipurpose ED160BR-7 Blade Runner. The unique ED160BR-7 combines dozer with SR-type excavator, enabling operators to excavate and dozer terrain with one machine. The next-generation SK130LC-11, the smallest of Kobelco’s conventional excavators, was also be showcased on the stand. Since establishing its first official Italian dealer in 2016, Italy has grown to be a region of significant importance for KCME, and it now boasts an extensive network of authorised dealers that covers the mainland as well as the islands of Sicily and Sardinia.
