The Manitou Group announces that it integrates 39 employees in its spare parts logistics center located in the city of Belvidere in the United States. Previously subcontracted in the United States, this strategic line of business fits in with the new group organization which aims to develop its Services and Solutions division.
The Manitou group has just integrated all of the 39 employees at its Belvidere logistics center. Outsourced by Pierce since 2000, the group intends to harmonize the operation of its logistics centers in North America and France (based at Ancenis) to ensure optimum control over its work flows as part of the ongoing improvement in its service quality. “As of January 2017, the project team worked to ensure that the transition was completed as planned on June 1. An important issue was to ensure the maintenance of all employees in the warehouse and this goal was achieved! The logistics activity, led by Joshua Moorehead, currently has 5 supervisors and 33 full-time logistics officers”, comments Kelly Knoebel, Spare Parts & Attachments Operations Manager.
The Belvidere distribution center distributes spare parts for Gehl and Mustang (XPRT) machines worldwide and in the United States and Canada for Manitou components. In total, 70,000 items originating from 600 suppliers are stored by the group via this logistics center covering an area of 17,500 m².
“At our Belvidere center we have a 96% availability rate for spare parts for our three brands: Manitou, Gehl and Mustang. At the moment we have even exceeded this rate, thanks to the involvement of the teams! For an order placed during the day, we have the capacity for next-day delivery to our clients throughout the United States! With this integration, we are giving a strong boost to the worldwide logistical efficiency of the group”, says Wim Vercauteren, Vice-President of the Spare Parts Business Unit.
