The Manitou Group is launching the new e-commerce site for spare

The Manitou Group is launching the new e-commerce site for spare parts www.manitou-parts.com for agricultural and construction machinery. By offering its network and customers a new distribution channel and simplifying procedures for purchasing parts for end customers in France, the Group is demonstrating the quality of its service and its commitment to making the digital area one of its priorities for 2017.

Improving the quality of service through cross-channel sales is the Manitou group's aim with this new e-commerce site, which is called www.manitou-parts.com. Started at the beginning of 2015, this site has been designed in co-production with the network of certified Manitou dealers, to provide users with a rapid, clear and efficient response. Previously available only from dealerships, spare parts can now be delivered directly to customers' premises or to their nearest dealership.

Certified as compliant with the group's quality standards, the parts available will initially include 1,300 so-called non-technical items, selected from among the market's best-sellers. Items are divided into seven categories – “Electrical”, “Maintenance”, “Forks and Attachments”, “Cabin & Bodywork”, “Tools and Consumables”, “Concrete Mixers and Material Handling Equipment”, and “Shop” (Manitou goodies) - allowing the user to search intuitively. Users can also search for spare parts by machine type, part reference number, or by serial number. The items selected by Manitou Group have also benefited from price repositioning to be more competitive on the spare parts e-commerce market.

“Our aim is to offer our customers several distribution channels, while assuring them of the complete security of supply via the Internet. We had to offer a wide range of spare parts on a dedicated site to ensure quality while providing an ever more innovative service, with a guaranteed availability rate and optimum delivery times”, says Wim Vercauteren, Vice-President Business Unit Spare Parts.

Users who order a spare part will be offered the choice of two delivery methods: free of charge to their nearest dealership, or directly to their premises, for which they pay shipping costs based on three different weight bands, with a guaranteed delivery time of between two and four working days. To ensure outstanding service quality, Manitou Group also agrees to provide a full refund of return costs in the event of faulty parts or delivery errors. Currently available for the French market, the group plans to expand this type of sale to other countries in the coming months, depending on market developments in France, and to extend it to spare parts for the industrial machinery ranges.

"Online shopping has become the norm for today's consumers. That applies to many sectors, including ours! So it is now essential for a manufacturer such as Manitou to offer its customers a selection of online original parts, while at the same time taking advantage of the availability and proximity of the dealerships", says Louise Laumet, Spare Parts Project Manager.
