The teams at the Tadano plants in Lauf and Zweibrücken to donate over 32,000 Euros for the victims of the catastrophic flooding that occurred this summer.

“Tadano helps”: that is the motto that led the teams at the Tadano plants in Lauf and Zweibrücken to donate over 32,000 Euros for the victims of the catastrophic flooding that occurred this summer. The company then matched this donation so that a total of 65,000 euros were collected for the victims along the Ahr and Erft rivers. The donation amount was symbolically handed over to the alliance "Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.v." on December 16 as part of an online meeting.

Our team members’ donation efforts exceeded all expectations, and for me they’ve been a touching symbol of solidarity with people in dire need who continue to need our help,” Tadano Europe HR Vice President Frank Schättle explains. This becomes all the more apparent when one looks at the way that the floods’ devastating effects can still be seen in buildings and transportation routes in North Rhine-Westphalia and the Rhineland-Palatinate: Many houses are still far from being restored to a fully livable condition, if not completely uninhabitable, and the infrastructure in the area has not been fully repaired yet. Among other things, this means that cleanup and waste disposal efforts are still underway. “Rebuilding everything and giving people their homes back will still take quite a bit of time. But you can be sure that we’ll continue to be there for those affected and provide help as long as it’s needed,” Aktion Deutschland Hilft CEO Manuela Roßbach says. “Given the conditions on the ground, we just thought it was extremely important to make the donation before the year was over,” explains Jens Ennen, President & CEO, Tadano Demag GmbH & Tadano Faun GmbH.

And the donation could not have come at a more appropriate time, as the harsh winter months are only just starting and the money is urgently needed, as Roßbach emphasizes: “This large donation will help us continue to alleviate the enormous need in the areas around the Ahr and Erft rivers. Needless to say, both we and the people affected by the flooding are tremendously thankful for the efforts made by the Tadano team and the company.
