New products and new technologies will be officially launched in the North America market both from Tower and Rough Terrain Terex Cranes

New Terex rough terrain TRT 80US is an 80 USt max capacity crane with a main boom length of 138 ft (42.1 m) ft. It is the first model featuring TEOS, the new Terex Operating System that will increase job efficiency.

TRT 80USt compact design ease transportability, improves maneuverability in crowded job sites and confined spaces or while performing indoor lifts. It has four steering modes and 3 telescoping boom modes to always have the right set-up. Two are the jib configurations, 26 and 46 ft (8 and 15 m). The crane cabin comes with new steering column, new dashboard and a 10 inch display. LED lights are also part of the standard machine. Several are the options available: 4 cameras (the video is integrated in the main display), radio remote control, T-Link telematics platform (saving cost, increase productivity, timely technical assistance, statistical information provides useful indications to improve the crane management).

New TEOS (Terex Operating System) is the next generation on Terex control system that will enhance previous technology through a complete new man machine interface. We developed this new operating system following two pivotal principles: keep the functionality customers appreciate from previous models - like operating range limiter, engine automatic throttle, integrated diagnostics - and improve information flow, usability and maintenance. It is a new experience that will help also new operators to quickly perform.

A self-explanatory and icons system where first things come first. Marco Busconi, RT engineering director explains: “No doubts Conexpo is an important trade show and it is for us the perfect opportunity to show our new model TRT 80US together with TEOS (Terex Operating System). It is the next crane control generation that all new Terex models will include”.

Terex CTT 472-20 with the new Terex slewing technology T-Torque. A fully dynamic system, as a result of several internal testing and with the precious support of crane operators from around the world, that we think can answer the different needs in terms of load control and crane operation. Slewing is very important for cranes efficiency and with this new technology we believe we make a major step towards our customer satisfaction. It is a fully customized system that will easily help the crane operators find the best fit to their driving style, from smooth movements to very prompt reactions, matching the well-known Terex SK models behavior.

Delivering increased jobsite versatility, the crane can be configured with TS212, HD23 and H20 masts (respectively 7.78–7.48–6.40 ft /2.37-2.28-1.95 m widths), so customers can efficiently manage component inventory while cost-effectively meeting tower height needs.

The CTT 472 tower cranes are already working in North America, with the introduction of the new slewing technology and the support of our professional dealer network I am convinced that, beside our important SK production, we can have a great future also with our flat top range”, says Chris Johnson, North America Sales Director for Terex Cranes. “We strongly believe Terex Tower cranes provides the best in class return on invested capital through our innovative product design that maximizes performance and reduces operating costs all while being offered at very competitive prices”.

Offering an extended variety of options, the CTT 472-20 flat top tower crane gives customers 11 different jib configurations from 30 to 80 m (98 to 262 ft) to meet varying jobsite needs. With its competitive load chart, the crane delivers a maximum 22 USt (20-t) capacity at a length reaching 91-ft (27.7-m) and can hoist up to a 4.9-US ton (4.48-tonne) load at the maximum 262-ft (80-m) jib length. Terex Cranes’ unique Terex Power Plus boosts operating capacity by an extra 10% when needed.

Operators will feel they are in the lap of luxury in the CTT 472-20. A fully adjustable comfort seat and joystick controls with short stroke length provide a comfortable work experience throughout long shifts. Built-in heating and air conditioning maintain consistent cabin temperatures, regardless of working in below freezing winter temperatures or the heat of summer. The large, full-color 7-in (18-cm) display with anti-glare screen provides operating and troubleshooting data to the operator. Hoist, slewing and trolley speeds are designed so operators can move and position heavy loads efficiently and precisely. The crane’s new control system features expanded configuration options, allowing the CTT 472-20 to efficiently quickly adapt to different jobsite needs and reduced assembling time. Depending on tower configuration, the new CTT 472-20 crane delivers a maximum under hook height of 303 ft (92.4 m) providing competitive heights with the advantage to shorten erection time and lower costs at the jobsite. Optimized for transport, all tower segments come preassembled with durable aluminum ladders for efficient erection. Each jib section features an independent lifeline to aid with safe work at height installation, and the galvanized jib walkways deliver increased operating longevity.

CTT 472 is built ready for installation of available zoning, anti-collision systems, cameras and the next generation of Terex tower telematics, T-Link.

Lee Maynard, Global Sales Director: “North America is historically a market where we are very successful and we look forward to meet our customers to introduce our important news in terms of product development and support”.
