When upgrading its fleet, Dortmund-based Hubert Wiemann GmbH & Co. Autokrane KG looks for quality and performance, which is why the company decided on a Demag AC 250-5 all terrain crane: “We were convinced not only by the crane’s powerful performance capabilities, but also by its outstanding price-performance ratio,” points out General Manager Martin Wiemann, who is happy to see the return of the Demag brand with its rich tradition and its informative model names.

This is also why he travelled to Zweibrücken and picked up the new crane in person together with his son Markus and crane operator Sebastian Stefanski. The Demag AC 250-5 was handed over by Christian Kassner, new Terex Cranes Senior Sales Manager responsible for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland; and North Rhine-Westphalia Sales Manager Helge Pruefer.

Wiemann will be using the new crane mainly as an assist crane for erecting wind turbines. Because of this, the crane service provider decided on a configuration with a long 33-meter fly jib and the optional IC-1 Plus control system – a good choice, as Helge Pruefer confirms: “With a width of only three meters and a total length of just under 14.5 meters, the AC 250-5 is the most compact crane in its category, making it ideal for work sites where space is tight. The IC-1 Plus control system also helps, as it makes it possible to safely work with asymmetrical outrigger setups.
